I posted earlier about an artist trying to claim copyright infringement from people trying to take pictures of his sculpture that he did for Millenium Park in Chicago. Boing Boing has an update to this story. They are now claiming that they didn’t want profesionals taking pictures to use them for merchandise, because the city has an exclusive liscense on merchandising of the sculpture. This still doesn’t explain how they can claim copyright infringement if they don’t have proof that the photos where going to be used for merchandise.
